Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair

I've been a bad blogger lately, but not to worry, lots of needlework has been going on in the meantime.  I wanted to share a few pictures from the Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair that Steve and I went to a few weeks ago in Asheville.

We saw a sheared Alpaca....

And an angora rabbit, still sporting all its fur....

And lots and lots and lots of yarn vendors....

And many other cool things too.  Unfortunately neither of us was feeling well that weekend and so we didn't stay for the sheep shearing.  I also didn't see any sheared rabbits, much to my chagrin.  I did purchase some beautiful handspun and hand-dyed yarn, but won't post any pictures just yet, as I'm planning to use it make Christmas presents and don't want to spoil the surprise.

I was surprised by how few people were wearing handknit garments at SAFF.  I wore my Paper Dolls sweater and got quite a few compliments to stroke my already inflated knitting-related ego.  Steve wore his sad grey Alpaca hat that I made when my sizing skills were a bit - shall we say - less refined.

In other news, I've finished another sweater, so expect a new FO post soon.  I've also started a new fair isle project that I am crazy in love with.  Hopefully I'll be able to finish it before we travel to Tennessee for Thanksgiving, and then it'll be all Christmas knitting all the time, until the big day!

Come get your ham Tina! ha ha ha, awesome shot of the alpaca in what I guess is its version of a lion cut.

Had no idea that such events even occurred, much less were so large.
Thanks for sharing the pics. Animals look relatively well cared for, so that's a relief. :)
